Patriotic Beasties

Still twirling around in the studio and having way too much fun creating more patriotic beasties. With the 4th of July nearly here I'm working non-stop on the last of the festive pieces. I'm going to hate having to stash the red, white & blue stuff away for another year.
But, next on the agenda will be summertime silliness.........I'll be hauling out the umbrellas.........antique bathing suits, beach pails and picnic baskets.
This is Mortimer...........a big 34" ellie. He's Grand Marshall in the heidiland parade.

It was such a lucky day when I found this giraffe at an antique shop...........I swooned. I wondered is it karma.........did the maker of this whimsy piece somehow know that many years later I would find it and love it? Could they have known when they were painting this piece......yep it has the original paint...........that I would find it, have to have it and bring it home...........the giraffe's blue spots are perfectly patriotic!!!!
I couldn't resist making a couple mischievous monkey's...........I made them fire crackers and cherry bombs. The vintage wooden box worked perfectly for this vignette. Monkey trouble...........
KABOOM!

Till Next Time........
